Bomb blast decried

IMPHAL, May 21: Local people of Phumlou Mamang Leikai today staged a protest demonstration against the bomb blast that occurred at the residential gate of Phumlou Gram Panchayat Pradhan Maisnam Manikchand last evening.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, Phumlou Apunba Nupi Lup secretary Khundrakpam Thoibi appealed to all concerned to clarify as to which group tiggered the bomb blast and why. 
People of Phumlou Gram Panchayat have no grievances against the activities or performance of Pradhan Manikchand. Even if any group of people has grievances against the Pradhan, the same can be resolved through dialogue, Thoibi said.
Saying that the bomb blast could have caused huge casualties, Thoibi decried the bomb attack as a matter of grave concern.
She said that one of Manikchand’s dogs was killed in the blast which also damaged some windows of Manikchand’s house.
Manikchand said that no UG group has threatened him or served any monetary demand.
