IMPHAL, May 24: While Board of Secondary Education Manipur had taken up steps to exclude teachers of coaching centres from the panel of the question setters of the Class X examinations, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) and Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) on Friday sounded alarm over the Class XII examinations conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) and banned a private coaching institute in Imphal.
Speaking to media persons at DESAM's office at Shagolband Moirang Leirak, its secretary general Oinam Shital alleged that they found similarities in the English mock test question paper of Tony Coaching Centre and Class XII English question paper.
Suspecting that the coaching centre had advanced knowledge of the questions that will be asked in the Class XII examination conducted by the Council, DESAM claimed that the similarity was not a mere coincidence as even the alternative questions to choose from were found 'similar'.
Alleging that the coaching centre has not given the DESAM and AIMS a clear answer to the enquiries they put before the centre, the student bodies appealed the Directorate of Education(S) to investigate the matter and take up action against the centre.
The coaching centre will remained boycotted until the investigation is over and actions are taken up against the centre, said student bodies.
They further appealed the BOSEM and COHSEM to exclude teachers of private coaching institutions from the panel of question setters to check the leaks.
