Chingjaroi youth repairs inter villages PMGSY road

Ukhrul, June 19 : Several youth from three villages of Chingjaroi, Ukhrul repaired the neglected inter villages PMGSY road from Razai to Chingjaroi village.
The pathetic road condition had caused immense hardship to the commuters for the last many years.
The road from Razai to Chingjaroi was constructed in 2010 under PMGSY 7th Phase package no MN0925.
Although fresh cutting of road was done not to the mark of villagers expectation, the construction work also stop abruptly without completion and no maintenance works has been carried out in spite of the fund reserve for the cause.
Aya, a village youth mentioned that in 2018, the same road was included under PMGSY Phase 11 ( package MN09149) for shingling and blacktopping work but nothing has been done so far.
The village's youth have been maintaining and repairing the same PMGSY road, he informed.
Thotmathing, president of Chingjaroi Khullen Youth Organisation also said that the work agency had lend a deaf ear to the repeated demand of the villagers. Over 450 youth took up the repairing work for accessibility during monsoon season by using locally available heavy machinery, excavator, truck through goodwill donation of the villagers. The youth also extended gratitude to Ukhrul ADC Member, Lawrence Tuizar for providing financial assistance and urged the State Government to look into the plight of the people who had bore the brunt for many years due to the negligence of the contractors.
