JNMDA celebrates International Music Day

IMPHAL, Jun 21
The Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy celebrated International Music Day at its  auditorium Friday.
M Lakshmikumar Singh, Commissioner (Art & Culture), Government of Manipur and Prof N Tombi Singh, former Vice-Chairman, JNMDA graced the function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively with Prof H Tombi Singh, Vice Chairman, JNMDA as president.
A book titled "Paramparadagi Leiraklaba Manipuri Vaisnav Sangeet" written by late L Birendrakumar Singh, Padmashri & Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee was also released on the occasion.
Pung Cholom by the students of JNMDA, Duhar Cholom by the Gurus and students of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Hindustani Music (Tabla) by K Shanta Singh and Hindustani Music (Vocal) by L Devendrajit Sharma marked the event.
