IMPHAL, Jun 23: Winners of the 1st Zonal Level Competition 2019, organised by Mission Transformation of Government Schools, Manipur, were felicitated at Jubilee Hall of Imphal College, Imphal today.
Director of Education (S) Th Kirankumar, Addl Director (Science Promotion) RK Tennedy, Zonal Education Officer, Zone-I, Imphal West Sucheta Khumukcham, ZEO, Wangoi Zone, Imphal West Yumnam Hemchandra and Sr Lecturer SCERT, Visiting Faculty Arizona State University, USA RK Shashiranjan Singh attended the event as presidium members.
A total of 78 students from Class III to VIII were feted at the event.
Speaking at the event, Th Kirankumar encouraged the young students and lauded the Mission Transformation of Government Schools, Manipur for its initiative.
He also encouraged teachers and parents to guide the students and their wards in the right direction.
More than 6,000 teacher posts are lying vacant in the State Government run schools, he said emphasising the need to fill the vacant posts so as to impart proper education and develop the Government schools. He hinted that the posts will be filled gradually in time to meet the standard of education that is required. Development of schools and education system are collective responsibilities of Government, teachers, students, parents and public, he said.
