IMPHAL, Jun 24 : The High Court of Manipur has directed the Principal Secretary, Health (Manipur) to conduct an inquiry into the misuse of public funds in the construction of PHC at Rilram Centre, under Tengnoupal district.
A press release issued by the petitioner Momo Tantanga, a social worker, mentioned that a PIL was filed at the High Court of Manipur complaining against the corrupt practice and misuse of public funds in the construction of the PHC at Rilram Centre.
Stating that the people of 17 villages near Rilram Centre are facing untold misery due to the lack of  such facility, it continued that the High Court disposed the PIL on the first day of hearing, June 11, and issued an order directing the Principal Secretary of Health Department to hold an appropriate inquiry without any further delay and to take appropriate actions by fixing responsibilities on the erring officials and concerned contractors as to how the funds have not been properly utilised.
