Yairipok Municipal Council evicts illegal vendors

THOUBAL,June 25 : Yairipok Municipal Council along with Ema Emoinu Erat Thouni Lup, Yairipok Bazar and Yairipok police Tuesday removed vendors encroaching on footpaths in Yairipok bazar areas.
The drive at Yairipok Tampha Keithel and New Market were conducted to ease traffic and ensure safety, said Yairipok Municipal Council Ward No 7 Councillor Gurumayum Ingocha Sharma. The resolution to evict the illegal vendors, shops and workshops encroaching on footpath was taken during the 27th meeting of the Municipal Council on May 20, he said.
Notice for eviction was served on June 12, he added.
Yairipok Municipal Council Executive Officer Ch Ningtamba Meitei, Ward No 8 Councillor Konjengbam Ito Singh, staff, Ema Emoinu Erat Thouni Lup president K Sheitajit Sharma, secretary Ak Jemson and others took part in the drive.
