Tamenglong, Jun 26 : The Combined Annual Sports Week, 2019 of Jaithau Children Home (Boy), Zauzian Children Home (Girls) and Macarius Home-Specialized Adoption Agency run and managed by Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) began today under the theme “Sports for Physical and Mental Fitness” at Lower Ground Tamenglong Headquarters.
The Inaugural function of the combined Annual Sports Week, 2019 was graced by Dinimang Daimei, Manager, Canara Bank, Tamenglong Branch and Aduanliu, president United Women Organisations Tamenglong (UWOT) as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The director of IWCF, Kinderson Pamei welcomed the chief guest and guest of honour. In his speech, he encouraged the children not to play games only to win but compete with each other to be more disciplined.
Speaking on the occasion, the guest of honour stated, "Being in a child care institutions does not make one inferior to other. It is rather a privilege for every child as they will be provided many opportunities of learning in their best interest." She also encouraged the children to become someone who is loving and whom people can trust and rely upon.
Chief guest of the function Dinimang Daimei, Manager, Canara Bank, Tamenglong Branch highlighted children the importance of sports. He narrated a testimony of a sportsperson who is still healthy in-spite of his age. He also encouraged the children to play with discipline and with the spirit of sportsmanship.
The Combined Annual Sports Week, 2019 of Jaithau Children Home (Boy), Zauzian Children Home (Girls) and Macarius Home-Specialized Adoption Agency was declared open by the chief guest after which an exhibition football match between the Staff and Inmates was played wherein the latter team won the match by 3-1 goals.
