PB Acharya takes oath as Guv

IMPHAL, Jun 27 : With Governor Dr Najma Heptulla on leave, Nagaland Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya was today sworn in as the State Governor on an ad-hoc measure.
Justice Lanusungkum Jamir of the High Court of Manipur administered the oath of office and secrecy to PB Acharya during a swearing in ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall at 5 pm today.
Chief Minister N Biren, Forest and Environment Minister Th Shyamkumar, Education Minister Th Radheshyam, CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam, Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian, Congress MLA AK Mirabai, NEIDP president Dr Ng Bijoy, MLA S Rajen and top civil and police officials attended the swearing in ceremony. Later speaking to media persons, PB Acharya stated that as the Constitutional head of the State, he would  discharge his Constitutional duties to his best level.
He pledged that he would make his best efforts to plug the gaps, if there are any, between the State Government and the Central Government so that Manipur can make rapid strides on the path of development.
