Kak/Imp, Jun 27: Executive Committee, Referees and players of District Sports Association, Kakching condoled the sad demise of Advocate Yengkhom Mohendro Singh today, who was the current life member and former Chairman of executive committee and disciplinary committee of the association, said a statement issued by gen secy, DSA, Kakching.
A two-minute silence was observed by the members present for the departed soul to rest in peace in heavenly abode, and the shared the pain of the family members, the statement added.
His demise is an irreplaceable loss for the association, maintained the statement.
Meanwhile, Athletic Association of Manipur and United Veteran Football Association have expressed heartfelt condolence on the sudden demise of Ahongsangbam Janeshwor Singh in an unfortunate incident at his residence at Tharoijam Leirak, Pangei Road, Khurai Konsam Leikai on June 23.
Late Ahongsangbam Janeshwor started as athlete since childhood and has represented Manipur number of times and also made new record in Junior 800m race. He also represented India in Asian Junior Athletic Championship held at Jakarta and New Delhi in 1991 and 1992 respectively. He retired from Tata Sports, Jamshedpur as Athlete.
A two-minute silence was observed in a condolence meeting convened today by the members of Athletic Association of Manipur and United Veteran Football Association and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
