Daniel wins Sanatomba Award

IMPHAL, Jun 30: The RK Sanatomba Memorial Jour-nalist Award 2019 has been conferred to Poknapham daily’s Sub-Editor Daniel Chabungbam.
The award was presented to Daniel at a function held this afternoon at Hijagang Community Hall, Palace Compound under the aegis of the RK Sanatomba Memorial Trust.
Daniel Chabungbam (41) s/o Nabachandra of Yaiskul Chingakham Leirak was conferred the award in recognition of his weekly Saturday column Khulsingi Wari.
Daniel has so far written accounts of around 300 villages in his column.
He received DIPR’s Manipur State Journalist Award in 2017 and RK Maipaksana Journalist Fellowship in 2015.
RK Sanatomba Memorial Journalist Award was instituted in 2004 in memory of RK Sanatomba who served as the Editor of Kangla Lanpung.
The award distribution ceremony was graced by Manipur Cultural Integration Conference president Ari-bam Brajakumar and RK Sanatomba’s mother Ning-themcha (O) Mangi Shija as chief guest and president respectively.
Kangla Lanpung Vol VIII, Issue I was also released at the function where Assistant Prof Dr Lukram Ingochouba Meetei of Kirori Mal College, Delhi gave a lecture on ‘Aquaculture for health, earning and self-employment in Manipur’.
