Residential community mobilization training kicked off

IMPHAL, Jul 9 : District Project Officer Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Imphal East district kicked off a three day non-residential community mobilisation training for SMC/SMDC members & PRO members at Sangeet Kala Sangam Hall, Khurai Lamlong Bazar yesterday.
A documentary titled Khudam Ama was released as part of the function.
DI of School Shantakumar, Accounts Officer SSA Imphal East Ningjapanba W and AI of School Ram Prabesh attended the inaugural function as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
District coordinator of SSA, I/E district community mobilization, Thoudam Ruhinikumar, while speaking at the function, maintained that improving or developing a Government's school does not solely depend on the Government or the department concerned.
He said that locals should also consider the Government schools as their own and then only these schools will develop.
Maintaining that a School Management Committee should be formed at each school under Right to Free Compulsory Education Act, Ruhinikumar said that it is through this committee that the betterment of a school is discussed.
Citing a recent case, Ruhinikumar said that only two students were found studying at Leikol Upper Primary School  last year but it was only through School Management Committee that the number of students increased to 57.
The script and direction of the documentary released today was given by Ruhinikumar.
