Chandel, Jul 19: The Self Curfew (total shutdown) imposed in Chandel town since wednesday, in protest against the unreasonable number of bandh and blockade enforced on Chandel-Pallel road  causing severe hardship to the public and the inability of the authority concerned to take action against the bandh supporter, has been called off on Thursday after the authority concerned gave assurance to work on their demands.
In a press meet held at Chandel Town yesterday, ex-president, Anal Tangpi, Kohring Victor said that the self curfew which is a people movement was launched since wednesday morning in Chandel town in protest against the failure of the state force to arrest the bandh supporters. He continued that they have decided to call off the people movement after holding talks with the Govt officials at DGP office yesterday.
The total shutdown reportedly affected normal life in Chandel town while shops remain closed and vehicles stayed off the road.
