No rain Ah, no rain For days on end. Heat rises. People suffer at the workplace; People suffer at home. One can hardly sleep a wink. The tragedy is dead Once it pours with rain – Fish swim in the water bodies, Garden flowers and plants smile broadly.
In my late teens I gave my heart to a girl. She smiled back And the knowing smile said, ‘I know your feelings about me.’ Numb with shock, I realized My heart’s desire was a dream. My weakness was not important In the overall scheme of things. Oh, what a pity! Love broke me She simply was not the woman After my own heart.
This is my love story And is brief. I try to keep it simple But is not that simple. I still have feelings for her. Will there fall A drop of rain That will wipe The stab of pain in my heart?
Earth! Every day you receive The tombs of diehard flames of human heart. The heart is immortal, Hence no harsh words No scornful laugh. Let my poetry deal with The affairs of the heart; Let me sing only songs of love. My dearest wish is to leave the world, The forgiving parents, With a smile on my lips.
