IMPHAL, Jul 21 : Taking strong exception to the State Government's failure to fulfil their demands including the 7th  Pay (UGC scale), the All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) has threatened to launch various forms of agitation if the Government continues to ignore its demands.
A press release issued by the general secretary of AMCTA stated that the association held a meeting at Oriental College today to discuss the Government's failure to implement 7th pay (UGC scale) as well as different issues faced by college teachers.
The meeting decried the failure of the State Government  to give a positive res- ponse on the prolonged demand for 7th UGC pay since July 30 last year,  the 10-point charter of demands submitted on September 29 last year and a reminder submitted to the Government on February 14 this year.
Notably, Manipur is the only State which has not implemented 7th UGC pay yet. The meeting also demanded immediate release of 7th pay for college teachers/lecturers and also to distribute the SCA and TA by revoking the previous order.
It stated that a second reminder will be submitted on the matter and warned that AMCTA is set to take up democratic movements if the Govt turns a blind eye to the second reminder.
