Zero hour

IMPHAL, Jul 30: During the Zero Hour of the Rajya Sabha, MP Dr RK Ranjan urged the Union Government to amend the Constitution by replacing the term ‘Bengali Script’ to ‘Manipuri Script’ or Meitei Mayek.
The MP also urged the Central Government to inscribe Manipur Language or Meitei Mayek on the currency notes as done for other Scheduled languages. He also moved for declaring the Manipuri language as a classical language as it is a language which is more than 3000 years old.
