RN Ravi arrives in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, Jul 31: Governor-designate of the State of Nagaland, RN Ravi arrived in Nagaland on Wednesday afternoon along with his family. He will be sworn-in as the Governor at 11 am at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Thursday, August 1. Chief Justice (Acting), Gauhati High Court, Arup Kumar Goswami will administer the oath to RN Ravi.
Earlier in the day, a large number of people in Naga traditional attires gathered at Dimapur Airport to welcome RN Ravi. The Nagaland Gaon Buras Federation (NGBF) organized the reception programme.
Holding placards which read, “Your presence has brought an air of optimism for our Naga issue”, “Naga solution will finally see the light of the day” etc., etc., the people greeted RN Ravi at Dimapur Airport.
On arrival at Dimapur Airport Ravi was received by the people and presented bouquets. RN Ravi, however, did not give a public speech.
It can be noted here that, RN Ravi has been the Interlocutor representing the Government of India in the talks with the NSCN-IM and other Naga groups.
