Paraolon ambush case

IMPHAL, Jul 5: National Investigative Agency (NIA) submitted yet another supplementary charge sheet today, in connection with the Paraolon Ambush, which killed 18 army personnel of 6th Dogra Regiment and injured 15 others on June 4, 2015.
The supplementary charge sheet was submitted before the Special Court NIA Manipur, against 19 accused  individuals belonging to different underground outfits.
The submitted charge sheet is likely to be put up before the Court on July 8 for further proceeding.
On July 10 last year, NIA had submitted another supplementary charge sheet before the Special Court NIA Manipur
The said charge sheet came after the main charge sheet was submitted on December 19, 2015, along with the list of 65 prosecution witnesses before the Court.
In the main charge sheet, it was submitted that ambush was laid by a joint group of 17 individuals belonging to different outfits. Some of the accused of the case are presently lodged in judicial custody at Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa following their arrest by NIA during the investigation.
It may be mentioned that after the deadly ambush, the Ministry of Home Affairs handed over the case to NIA on June 6 the same year, and  from the next day (June 7) onwards, NIA launched necessary investigations by visiting the incident site as well as other locations.   
During the investigation, NIA concluded that the ambush was laid by a joint team comprising various UG groups and named 17 individuals belonging to various outfits.
