ZSUM appeals for solution to political impasse

The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has appealed to the Central and the State leaders to bring an amicable solution to the political impasse besieging the State at the earliest.
A press release issued by the State secretary of ZSUM today mentioned that the present crisis is very untimely as the State is expe- riencing various grave issues and expressed that ZSUM is optimistic that the leaders would sort out the differences and bring about a lasting amicable solution in the interest of the public.
A prolong lobbying in the National capital leaving aside the challenges of the State will amount to being anti-people, it stated, adding that every issue can be sorted out by sitting across a table in a peaceful manner.
Stating that ZSUM has faith and confidence in the present Government, it explained that with the coming of the BJP Government, the citizens of Manipur have witnessed tremendous chan-ges in the law and order front and the number of bandhs and blockades have decreased.
It continued that highways have been maintained at the maximum levels and the gap between the hills and the valley has been bridged by the BJP Government through its many programmes, adding that Go To Village, Hill Leaders Day, Meeyamgi Numit and other humanitarian programmes have reached out to many people who are settled in far flung corners of Manipur.
As such, ZSUM appealed to the Central and State leaders to bring an amicable solution at the earliest.
