IMPHAL, Aug 1 : YLK, Chingarel Tejpur and Citizen emerged champions at the 43rd Sub-Junior Boys and Girls State Level Handball Tournament organised under the aegis of Manipur Handball Association at Mayang Imphal.
YLK secured a 28-21 against BBA, Mayang Imphal to win the sub-junior boys title of the tournament participated by 4 teams. A Bikramjit took centre-stage of the YLK attack and fetched 10 goals alone to set up the huge win. His team-mate K Rajeshwor was also in prolific form today and scored 8 goals while A Somorjit, L Lemba and Bekcham L scored 4, 3 and 2 goals respectively besides Th Silheiba who added a goal.
N Shitaljit of BBA top-scored with 6 goals in his name in this encounter and his team-mates A Premson and I Atomba netted 4 goals each. Sushilkumar and A Tondonba scored 2 and 3 goals each for BBA and L Geetan and Th Yaiphaba managed a goal apiece to make it a total of 21 goals.
Meanwhile Citizen thrashed YLK by a huge 20-11 margin to rightfully claim the sub-junior girls' title. Th Anjubala shone for Citizen as she scored 7 goals in this one sided match while Th Angoubi, Kh Tondonbi and H Jenita and Th Jenila scored 3 goals each to made the big win possible. N Pushpa also contributed a goal for the winning side.
On the other hand, YKL's goals were scored by Th Kabita (5), T Monika (3), S Sanatombi (2) and I Berlice (1).
