‘2.5 lakh people enrols with BJP’

IMPHAL, Aug 11: BJP State membership in charge L Deben has claimed that around 2.5 lakh people have enrolled into the party, exceeding the target of 2 lakh set for the enrolment drive to the BJP which began from July 6.
Speaking to media persons at a membership drive programme which was organised by BJP OBC Morcha at the party office at Canchipur today, Deben said that the drive, which was kick-started under the supervision of BJP State Unit president K Bhabananda and Chief Minister N Biren Singh,  is meant to conclude today but as per instruction from the National office, the drive has been extended to August 20.
He further informed that MP Dr RK Ranjan has been notified by the National office to take part in the drive for a period of 7 days and appealed to the Morchas to make the general public aware of all the schemes and projects taken up by the Central and State Governments for the benefit of the people.
On the other hand, BJP State OBC Morcha president S Liben appealed to the people to enrol into BJP to get proper information about all the schemes and benefits of the Government. Party vice president S Joy, general secretary N Nimbus and other leaders were also present as well.
