The event was graced by Minister of Art and Culture L Jayantakumar Singh, titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba, Managing Director of Iboyaima Hospital and Research Centre Hero Thokchom and Vice Chairman of SALAI Holdings Pvt Ltd L Brojendro as the presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Minister L Jayantakumar stressed on the importance of unity between the people of the hills and the valley and to instill the feeling or patriotism in the minds of the younger generations.
He continued that life, nowadays, has become very complicated and as such it has become increasingly important to have unity among one another to survive together.
He then informed that he has a desire to approach the Chief Minister with a plan to construct a Shumang Leela school building and pointed out that the idea will be pitched to the Union Minister concerned.
On the other hand, Leishemba Sanajaoba said that everyone should learn from history and past mistakes/events and stressed on the importance of witnessing the play shown today.
He continued that the events in the history of Manipur, whether it be the Seven Years Devastation or the Khongjom war, most of them were due to disunity among brothers, families and the people which gave opportunities to other external forces to wreak havoc.
The people today should learn from those mistakes and make sure not to repeat those same errors, he added.
Sanajaoba continued that even in such a small State with such a small population, people still divide themselves based on their interests or based on ethnicity like Meiteis, Nagas, Kukis, Meitei Muslims etc and stressed on the need for unity among the various communities and the people.
