Consultative meeting held at TRI Chingmeirong

IMPHAL, Aug 14: A one day consultative meeting of all heads of the ADCs Manipur, leaders of tribal CSOs, legal experts, intellectuals and social activists was held at TRI Chingmeirong, Imphal Wednesday.
The consultative meeting organised by All Tribal Chiefs' Forum Manipur was attended by president ATCFM Tongpu Kipgen, ex-MP BD Behring, MDC Finance Committee Chairman SHADC Kangpokpi Dr Dominic, Advocate R Daniel, EM SHADC Kangpokpi Damma Vaiphei, MDC Kangpokpi Johny Gangmei, MDC Kangpokpi Lunthang Haokip, president Kuki Inpi Manipur Khainang Chongloi, chairman Anglo-Kuki War Celebration Committee Jangmang Haokip and many other tribal leaders.
Speakers including many experts and resource persons spoke and deliberated on the 'Village Recognition in the Hills of Manipur' and '2020-21 House List Counting & Social Economic and Caste Census'.
The consultative meeting resolved to appeal the Government to review and transfer the hill village recognition authority from the Revenue Department to the Hill Commissioner.
