RSS clarifies

IMPHAL, Aug 17: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Imphal Jilla has clarified that it did not attempt to distort the history of Manipur by pla-cing a portrait of Bharat Mata among the portraits of the bravehearts of Manipur during the observation of the Patriots' Day on August 13.
A press release issued by the convenor of the 128th Patriots' Day organising committee, RSS Imphal Jilla, explained that since a long time back, RSS always paid floral tributes and respect to a portrait of Bharat Mata in all events it organised.
It clarified that till date, RSS has done nothing to distort the history and identify of the State in anyway and added that it has always been honouring the brave patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice for the State all these years.
It continued that it will take up measures to prevent such misunderstanding in the future and apologised to the people and everyone concerned for any harm the incident might have caused.
