Manipur women held with drugs in Shillong

SHILLONG, Aug 1: In yet another effort to control the supply chain of drugs into Meghalaya from different States, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) team of East Khasi Hills District along with officers and staff of Madanriting Police Station have arrested a woman from Manipur on Thursday.
A woman identified as Vansosiem, 38 year hailing from Saiden village in Churachandpur district, Manipur was arrested on Thursday and was presently residing in a rent house at Demthring Block-I.
Police have seized 32 soap cases containing suspected Heroin weighing 393.38 grams valued approximately Rs. 74,74,220. Police have also arrested one more lady identified as Kimboi Hmar in connection with the case.
Police are not ruling out further arrests and investigating the criminal conspi- racy involved in bringing alleged contraband from Manipur to Shillong. The investigation is still on.
