IMPHAL, Aug 22 : Governor Dr Najma Heptulla greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, 2019.
In her message, the Governor stated that 'Krishna Janmastami' celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of God on earth.
His timeless teaching of Karma to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra signifies the worship of work and carrying out one's duties without any expectation or reward, Dr Najma said and urged all to embrace the teachings of Lord Krishna and propagate love and affection for all.
Chief Minister N Biren also greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of Krishna Janmastami.
Biren maintained that the followers of Lord Krishna, who is considered to be the 8th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, believe that he was  born to help people get rid of evil elements.
May Lord Krishna bless our lives with peace, prosperity and happiness, the CM prayed.
Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) cum president of BJP Manipur Pradesh, K Bhabananda Singh too extended his warm greetings to  the people of  Manipur, particularly the Hindus.
Stating that the festival is celebrated with the objective of celebrating Lord Krishna birth to free the Earth from the evil and propagate the theory of bhakti and good karma which is narrated in the Bhagwat Gita, the MP prayed for the festival to bring forth the spirit of bhakti and good karma and take Manipur forward as a peaceful and prosperous State.
Works Minister Th Biswajit, while greeting the people of Manipur, also prayed for the festival to pave the path of unity, development and prosperity in the State. 
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) also conveyed their greeting to the people of Manipur, especially Hindu brethren on the occasion of Krishna Janmastami.
