IMPHAL, Aug 3: Students of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School staged a sit-in protest in front at the school gate today urging the State Government to book the culprits involved in the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana at the earliest and bring normalcy in the school so that the rest of the students can continue their studies like before.
Speaking to media persons, one of the students urged the State Government to deliver justice to Baby-sana and arrest the miscreants immediately.
The death of Babysana is strongly condemned and the school's student union shares the grief and pain of the bereaved family, the student added.
More than 6000  students of the school have not been attending classes since July 18 and the future of these students  is hanging in the air.
It is a matter of grave concern that the Government has not been able to arrest the wrongdoers till date, remarked the student.
On the other hand, parents/guardian of students of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary  organised a press meet at Manipur Press Club and observed two minute silence to pay tribute to the departed soul. An ad-hoc committee of parents/guardians was also formed at the press meet.
The ad-hoc committee's secretary Md Anwar Hussain said that a meeting has been called on August 4 at Kyamgei Heibong Makhong community hall at 2 pm to discuss formation of a permanent parents/guardians committee.
He appealed all to attend the meeting.
Md Anwar further appealed the State Government as well as all stake holders and the general public to let the school open during the course of investigation into the mysterious death of Babysana.
