'Rape' survivor found dead

IMPHAL, Aug 4: A minor, who also happened to be a 'rape' survivor, was found hung to death inside her own bedroom today afternoon.
According to the mother of the victim, the incident came to light today afternoon when she entered her daughter's room and found her dead, hanging with a Khudei.
Immediately, she shouted for help and eventually her daughter was taken down by the locals and they rushed her to RIMS for treatment but the doctor on duty declared the minor brought dead.
The body has been kept at RIMS morgue for postmortem and a case has been registered at Lamsang PS.
It may be mentioned that two individuals, Konthoujam Gandhi and Konthoujam Nando, uncles of the deceased, are presently lodged in Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa and a trial is currently underway against them at the Court of Special Judge, POCSO, Imphal West, on the charge that they sexually assaulted the minor (deceased).
