Sr Men's and Women's Handball: MPSC down PC 33-18 to register third win on trot

IMPHAL, Aug 6 : Manipur Police Sports Club's men's team continued its fine run at the 43rd Senior Men's and Women's State Level Handball Tournament which is organised in double leg basis under the aegis of Manipur Handball Association, as they posted their third win on the trot with a 22-18 thrashing of Public Club (PC) today.
MPSC which kicked off their campaign with a 30-24 win against CRPF yesterday claimed a 26-19 win against BBA in their second fixture before easing to a 22-18 win today. N Atomba top-scored with 6 goals in his name for MPSC and N Gobin scored 5 goals set up the huge win against PC. Th Rabi and L Jayanta scored 4 goals apiece for the same team while Th Rabi, H Ingocha and Y Becker Roy managed three goals each. O Bijoy also added 2 goals besides Th Hemanta, N Ingocha and O Deban scored a goal each for MPSC today.
E Priyo (4) made the most of the scoring for PC in this game while K Raju and Th Imocha scored 3 goals each. T Meghajit and E Rakesh also scored 2 goal each for PC whereas L Jackson, K Rajesh, T Ranjit and Sh Sudhir grabbed a goal each to make it a total of 18 goals in a losing cause.
Earlier in other men's competition, CRPF thumped YLK by 24-18 goals to post their second win at the tournament.
Vinod Singh shone in the match with 6 goals for CRPF and his team mates Th Sanjoy and M Parsuram made valuable contributions of 10 goals (5 goals apiece). Rajesh (3), Sukhinder (2), Jaktar (2) and KK Singh (1) also scored for CRPF.
A Bikramjit too scored 6 goals for YLK but his effort went in vain as his team could fetch 18 goals till the end. K Rajeshwor and K Athouba also aided A Bikramjit by scoring 4 goals each  and A Ranjan could add 2 goals apart from singles coming from K Binod and Ch Umakanta.
In the women's competition, Citizen notched up a 26-15 win against BBA thanks to goals by O Anjali (8), Th Jenila (7), S Roma (3), Th Anjubala (3), B Sumitbala (2), I Romibala (2) and W Rebika (1).
L Sonia and L Remika scored 5 goals each for BBA while Ch Ingunganbi and L Sushma scored 3 and 2 goals respectively.
