Search Ops

IMPHAL, Aug 7:  Imphal West and Bishnupur district commando carried out cordon and search operations in their respective districts today, as a part of the preventive and security measures ahead of Independence Day.
Imphal West district commando launched a cordon and house to house search operation at Keishamthong Hiruhanba Leikai river bank today morning. During the operation, more than 50 houses were checked and many individuals were verified but no one was detained.
The same commando team conducted another search operation at Temporary Market Shed, Roop Mahal Tank and Gambhir Singh Shopping Arcade, during which more than 200 individuals were verified by the police team. 8 persons without identity proofs were detained and handed over to City PS.
Similarly, a team of Bishnupur commando conducted a search op at Bishnupur bazar area today and detained 19 individuals. They were handed over to Bishnupur PS for verification.
