Manipur emerge overall team champions of 10th Mini National Fencing C'ship

IMPHAL, Aug 8: Manipur fencing team clinched a total of three gold, seven silver and 4 bronze medals to emerge overall team champions of the 4th Children Cup and 10th Mini National Fencing Championship-2019 which got underway since August 6 at Maharashtra Divisional Sports Complex, Panchvati Nashik under the aegis of Fencing Association of India.
 A Thomba Meitei bagged gold medal and Sh Zenith Meitei ended with silver medal in boys' Epee Individual event while Th Satyananda clinched another silver for the State in boys' Sabre individual event in the last day of the championship.
S Bicky collected another bronze medal for the State in Boy's Foil individual event.
N Tamphasana, represnting Manipur, also ended with silver medal in Girl's Epee individual event.
In Girls Sabre individual event, P Ambika Chanu and Priya Ningombam bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively and Ak Deviyarani collected another silver medal for the State in Girl's Foil individual event.
Boys' Epee team comprising A Thomba Meitei; Sh Zenith Meitei; K Dollar and Ningombam Robertson also won gold medal while Girls' Foil team comprising of Giti Langoljam, Ak Deviyarani, Lanchenbi Haobam and T Mangalleibi ended with silver medal.
Boys' Sabre team made up of Th Sheitananda, Shaolin Ningombam, Chinglemba Toijam and S Jemikanta too ended with silver medal after losing the gold medal bout.
The Girls' Epee team formed by Tamphasana, Deviya Ningthoujam, Thokchom Benao and Ningombam Jesie and Boys' Foil team of Khoisnam Rabi, Sanjenbam Bicky, N Malemnganba and L Manaoton claimed a bronze medal each for the State.
