Cleanliness drive conducted at Kak

Kakching, Sep 10: A cleanliness drive was conducted today at Kakching to clean plastics and garbage strewn around along the route of Kakching World War -II Memorial Run organized by Kakching Runners on September 8.
Members of Kakching Runners not only cleaned the route of the memorial run that was held under two categories - 25 km and 8 km - but also cleaned other area.
Regarding the social service, Race Director of 1st edition Kakching World War-II Memorial Run, Naorem Munal Meitei said that the cleanliness drive was conducted by the Kakching Runners with three objectives.
The first objective is 'Run for a healthy society', he added and said that plastics and its products is the number one health hazard across the globe.
Second, Kakching town is one of the cleaniest town among various Municipalities of Manipur and was also adjudged the cleaniest town in North-East in 2017. Therefore, it is duty of Kakching Runners to uphold the honour.
Third, Kakching Runners like to educate the public about of health hazards caused by plastic and its products through the social service.
