Bpr/CCpur, Sep 11: To commit oneself to removing plastic waste from the surrounding environment and building a 'Plastic Pollution Free Environment', Neeta Arambam, DC Bpr launched 'Swachhta Hi Sewa' movement at Mini-Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur today.
The event was organized by District Water & Sanitation Committee, Bishnupur.
Speaking on the event, the DC stated that the movement will be carried out till October 27.
The DC also urged the denizens of the district to support the movement and make the district ‘plastic free zone’.
The drive will cover public places, tourist spots, bazaars and hospitals, she added.
District Level Officers, PHED staffs and staffs from mini-secretariat attended the function.
CHURACHANDPUR: Swacchta Hi Seva, Cleanliness is Service was launched today at BRGF Hall, DC Office Churachandpur by the Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav. The event saw participation from PHED Churachandpur, DC Office Staff, NERCOMP and DRDA.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon the gathering to create an environment of cleanliness free from plastic so that the coming Diwali and 2nd October, the third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Gandhi Jayanti, can be celebrated in a befitting manner.
Message from the Prime Minister was also read out by the ADC Thangboi Gangte.
On the occasion, special Gram Sabhas would be organised in consultation of PHED, ADCC, DRDA and NERCOMP with the agenda to spread awareness and monitor the status of cleanliness.
