IMPHAL, Sep 16: Concerned over the rise in consumption of tobacco products by the student community, the Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation (RNSO) has appealed to the State Government to make certain policies for import and sale of tobacco products in all areas of the State, particularly in the vicinity of educational institutions.
A statement issued by the president of RNSO today mentioned that the student community of the State use tobacco products as a fashion and to show that they are mature by imitating others, which has resulted in addiction to nicotine among the students.
The increase in the consumption of tobacco products will ruin the students, who are the future Nation builders, it added.
