IMPHAL, Sep 18: All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers' Union (AMMDMWU) has appealed the State Government to release the pending honorarium of all mid day meal workers who are employed at different Government's schools of the State without further delay.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, today, AMMDMWU's secretary, Arambam Thoi said that the workers who are playing pivotal role in ensuring hygienic food for children have not received honorariums since February this year apart from two months honorarium pending from last year.
Stating that other States have increased the honorarium of the mid-day meal workers, Thoi urged the State Government to increase the honorarium of the State's mid-day workers to Rs 25,000 per month to provide security and improve their living standard.
