IMPHAL, Sep 24 : NGL, Lourembam emerged the champions of Second Division Football League Tournament being organised by District Football Association Thoubal after a 2-1 win against YDA, Tentha at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School playground today in the their last match of the Super Four Round.
NGL, Lourembam which posted a 2-0 win against HKKSA in the previous tie, Haokha made an impressive comeback with the help of Y Surjit to beat YDA, Tentha 2-1 today.
Th Krishna gave YDA the lead in the 18th minute only to be equalised for NGL by Y Surjit in the 28th minute of the play. The equaliser greatly boosted NGL morale and it was Surjit on the target again in the 33rd minute and completed the turnaround.
The scoreline remained unchanged in the second half as well despite but teams getting enough chances and eventually the Lourembam side accomplished treble in the Super Four Round of league tournament.
Meanwhile, HKKSA romped past AFC-B by 7-1 goals in another fixture of the day to register their second win in the Super Four Round. KHHSA had earlier posted a 1-0 win against YDA before going down in the hands of NGL in the previous fixture.
It was a brilliant start for HKKSA against the poorly AFC-B, Athokpam with L Prakash netting twice (9', 19') within 19 minutes of the game and made it 4-1 at the break as A Shitaljit (23') and M Dayananda (26') joined the party. H Ronaldo of AFC-B managed to add the lone goal in the 28th minute of the match. P Roshan then stole the show in the second half as he hit twice in the 45th and the 46th minutes before S Boicha rounded off the scoring in the 48th minutes with a superb execution.
