IMPHAL, Sep 27 : Thang-ta players from the State who participated at the World Martial Arts Festival held recently in Chungju City Korea and Wushu players who brought home medals and honours from National Wushu Championship 2019 held recently at Punjab University were given a warm reception by International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) at 10.30 am at Khuman Lampak Multipurpose Hall today.
The reception programme was attended by YAS Minister, Letpao Haokip as the chief guest; Joychandra Konthoujam, president of IPSA as functional president in the presence of N Rajendro, advisor ICHAM and social worker, Y Rohoso as guests of honour who also feted the 27 players.
In his speech, YAS minister stressed on the importance of collectivism to achieve a common goal. He said that it was a good development and quite encouraging to learn that factions within the wushu association has resolved to work together leaving aside all differences that existed earlier. Factionalism within the sports association will only create chaos and deteriorate the spirit of the players, he said while urging everyone to join hands and work together until the common goal is achieved.
The Minister advised youngsters to opt and groom themselves in any sports discipline instead of wasting their valuable time and money in unnecessary activities.
He also highlighted the role and responsibility of parents, coach and teachers in shaping the mindset of younger generations for their better future on the occasion.
