Held with opium

IMPHAL, Sep 27: A joint team of Bishnupur district commando and Kumbi police, arrested two individuals along with 10 kilograms of opium from Tangjeng, under Kumbi PS, yesterday evening.
According to a reliable source, acting on specific information regarding the presence of some drug peddlers in and around Tangjeng area, a joint team of Bishnupur commando and Kumbi PS rushed to the spot at around 6 pm and arrested two individuals, along with 10 kgs of opium.
During spot verification, the arrested individuals were identified as Solomon Simte (34) s/o Seipao Simte of Thingbongphai village, Sugnu, and Khupkhongam Haokip (42) s/o Sekhojang Haokip of Longpi Khunou, Sugnu.
The joint team arrested them on the spot and handed over to Kumbi PS, along with the seized drugs, for taking up necessary legal action.
