Social media campaign for Miss Lily launched

IMPHAL, Sep 27 : A social media campaign for Miss Lily 2019, which will be held at Ukhrul on October 18 as a part of the Shirui Lily Festival 2019, was launched by IGP (Administration) IK Muivah at Hotel Classic Grande today evening.
Speaking at the event, IK Muivah said that Shirui Lily Festival is a State level festival which is very much awaited by the people and added that Miss Lily beauty pageant is an integral part of the said festival similar to how Miss Kut and Orange Queen events are important for their respective festivals.
He then explained that nowadays, the contestants of beauty pageants must posses the quality of beauty with brains and added that the contestants must have proper knowledge of the environment, child rights and human rights.
During the event, the IGP launched pages containing information, details, promotional videos and photos of Miss Lily 2019 in Instagram, Facebook and Youtube.
On the other hand, Director of Miss Lily 2019 Organising Committee, Miss Phapha Gachui said that the event was organised by Imphal based Shirui Yorla under the name of Miss Spring last year but this year, the Indigenous Foundation will helm the festival under the name Miss Lily.
The first audition of the beauty pageant, which will be organised under the theme 'Beauty for Humanity', will be held at Classic Hotel on October 1. The remaining auditions will be held at Delhi and Ukhrul on October 4 and 7 respectively. The grand finale will be organised at TNL Ground, Ukhrul, on October 18, she informed.
She continued that the title of Miss Lily 2019 consists of  a Huishon & Kongsang (Tangkhul traditional ornament) crown and a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and explained that Rs 1 lakh (out of the said cash prize) will be used by the winner in collaboration with the organising committee for environment awareness and other promotional programmes.
Informing that the sub-titles of the beauty pageant are Miss Humanity, Miss Pangthei (Best Arms), Miss Pheithei (Best Legs), Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Beautiful Skin, Miss Graceful Walk, Miss Popularity, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Photogenic, Miss Talented and Miss Perfect Body, Phapha Gachui said that they will be given Rs 45,000 and Kongsang prizes.
However, for Miss Humanity, the cash prize will be Rs 75,000, she added.
