Manipurgi Puwarida Miyamgi Leingak Leikhiba Numit on Oct 18

IMPHAL, Sep 28: Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) will be observing the day Manipur had its first people's Government, on October 18, under the theme 'Manipurgi Puwarida Miyamgi Leingak Leikhiba Numit'.
Speaking to media persons at CCSK office at Chekon today, its president cum chairman of the observation committee Jeetendra Ningomba said that Manipur gained independence on August 14, 1947 and in 1948, the people's representative were elected and on October 18 the same year, the first Manipur Legislative Assembly was held.
Remembering the historic day, CCSK will be observing the event at GM Hall on October 18, he added.
Stressing on the importance of the event, Jeetendra appealed to all to take part in the event which will start from 9.30 am.
