THOUBAL, Sep 3: The 48 hours bandh called by the JAC in connection with the mysterious death of N Babysana affects normal life at Yairipok today.
Yairipok Bazar remained shut and supporters thronged road near Yairipok bridge enforcing the bandh. Yairipok police pushed back the supporters to Yairipok bazar where they further enforced the bandh.
Passenger vehicles were not operational during the bandh.
The bandh also affected normal life at Bishnupur also.
Kumbi bazar, Moirang bazar, Ningthoukhong bazar, Bishnupur bazar, Oinam bazar, Nambol bazar and Kwakta bazar remained shut.
Kakching bazar also remained shut during the bandh hours.
It may be noted that N Babysana, a student of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur was found hung to death inside the hostel of the school on July 18. Many organisations have been staging protests demanding justice for Babysana till today.
