Kits launched as TRAU prepare for I League debut

IMPHAL, Sep 6 : Kits for Second Division League 2018-19 champions Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), were launched today in a function held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal as the team gears up for their debut I League this year with a new name ACIESTA TRAU FC.
The launch function was attended by TRAU's secretary T Phulen in the presence of other important members and officials of the Club, representatives of the sponsors. Speaking on the occasion, T Phulen said ACIESTA Sports Alliance Private Ltd, Kolkata will be the title sponsor of the team for the I-League Season 2019-20 and former sponsor, HVS Construction Materials Pvt Ltd, which have contributed a lot in Clubs development will also continue as an sponsor besides another new sponsor Topcem Cement.
All new kits, red and green (home kit) and white (away kit) in colours inscribed with sponsors' marks and names were unveiled today during the function.
Phulen also extended gratitude to the sponsors for their roles in providing the club a new platform and further expressed hope that they will continue to invest more in years to come.  He also maintained that ACIESTA TRAU FC have rope in as many as 7 foreign players to reinforce the team in the wake of the I-League where they will be facing a new level of competition.
With the signing of the new deal worth Rs 3 Crore with ACIESTA Sports Alliance Private Ltd, the club is expected to get a huge boost and it may be recalled that the deal was processed with the help of its marketing partner, SportiFan Ventures Limited, a sports business management firm based in the United Kingdom, last month.
The football club now have altogether 40 players in the senior team including 7 foreign players, and 30 out of these will be selected in the team's I-League squad.
Stating the recently held Durand Cup was the reality check of the team's strength and weakness, Phulen said that Manipur State League is expected to be held before the I League and it will be a good platform for the local players to showcase their talents and get selected in the I-League squad.
