National Youth Day observed at Bpr, Tbl

BISHNUPUR, Jan 12: National Youth Day was observed at Ningthoukhong Bal Vidya Mandir, under the slogan "Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building" today.
The observance, organised by Vidya Bharati : Vidwat Parishad and Matri Bharati Manipur was attended by Principal Ramakrishna Mission School Imphal Swami Nityapurnananda, Deputy Director, Technical Education, Manipur Dr Bhabeshwar Tongbram and Vidya Bharati Shiksha Vikas Samiti Manipur president Y Khogen Singh  as dignitaries.
At the event, Bhabeshwar Tongbram called on the youth to learn and study the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and follow his principles.
Principal Ramakrishna Mission School Swami Nityapurnananda encouraged youth and told the life story of Swami Vivekananda and his address at the Chicago Parliament.
THOUBAL: In connection with the 157th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada, National Youth Week of Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal was opened today at DC Counting Hall, Thoubal.
The opening ceremony was graced by Hasina Begum, Adyaksha, Thoubal ZIilla Parishad as chief guest; W Ibohal Singh, retd District Youth Coordinator as functional president;   Michael T Mate, District Youth Co-ordinator, NYK Thoubal as guest of honour.
T Rameshwor Singh, retd Teacher & National Awardee, who was the resource person of the event, spoke about the philosophy, teaching and history of Swami Vivekananda.
 The National Youth Day observance began by paying floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda. Sports materials were also distributed to different youth clubs by the dignitaries.
 Over 100 youths of Thoubal & Kakching districts took part on the occasion.
The observance will continue till January 19.
