YUCC, PTRC emerge victorious in N Rajningthoi Memorial Trophy

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : YUCC, Kwakeithel and PTRC were able to post wins against their respective in today's matches of the 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem  Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2020.
In the match staged at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, YUCC posted 143 runs total for 9 in 30 overs before restricting YWC, Langthabal to 75 runs in 22 overs to ensure the 68 runs victory.
After being led to bat first, YUCC's innings did not fare well as most of the remaining order had short stay on the crease. It was N Rohit who made the most run for team with 33 runs in his name while N Diba and W Max added 17 and 13 runs. N Amarjit also added 12 runs off 5 balls and remained not out.
Soubam Robinson and Seram Robinson duo shone in YWC bowling as they managed two wickets each in this innings while Dailesh, H Babu and N Richer picked up a wicket each.
The target however proved too big for YWC as the team bundled out for a paltry 75 runs for all wickets down in the chase despite P Rohits's knock of 32 runs.
The other line up fell easy prey to YUCC bowlers led by Punsiba, who scalped 3 wickets in his spell of 3 overs providing only 3 runs. Amarjit and Dibak also bowled well to fetch two wickets each and set up the huge win while Devaraj picked up a wicket.
N Amarjit who produced an all round performance was named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, PTRC, Patsoi earned a 57 run victory against PCC, Mayaikoibi after posting 141 runs target for all wickets down in 29.1 overs.
Joyraj gave PTRC a good start to their innings by scoring 23 runs off 29 balls before Rahul Sharma and Nongdam keep the momentum on by adding 10 and 12 runs respectively. All rounder Tamarland who came up midway maintained his cool and managed the highest 33 runs off 27 balls and remained not out on their way to 140 runs.
PCC's Pravin and Lucky enjoyed three wicket hauls in this innings but their effort went in vain as their chase ended with 83 runs on the scoreboard in 28.4 overs as Mordekai picked up three crucial wickets before Rohit  Sharma and Tamarland added teeth to their bowling attack and scalped two wickets each. Moramba and Joyraj also removed a wicket each to help PTRC post a convincing win as Themission with 12 runs was the highest run getter for PCC in this innings.
Tamarland was eventually named man of the match.
