Law Minister inaugurates Prosecutor Office at Senapati

Senapati, Jan 22 (DIPR): Law & Legislative Affairs Minister L Jayantakumar Singh has inaugurated the Public Prosecutor Office, Senapati today.
This is the second inauguration of such office in the State after Imphal. The new building is constructed under  MANIDCO with a sanctioned amount of around Rs 76 lakh. It has also been completed in the stipulated time, he added.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Jayantakumar said that though there are many areas to be developed in this sector, taking up new policies and developmental projects take time. Saying that things have to be done on a priority basis, he asserted that the State Government and Law Department are very much keen to take up new initiatives and actions to have a world-class judicial system in the State.
Explaining the role of the lawyers, the Minister said that people need to see the white part of the lawyers lying under the black coat which the lawyers are using as their code dress. Continuing that many people have a misconception towards the lawyers, he clarified that the profession of lawyers is very much humble.
The duty assigned to the Judges, Justice and Public Prosecutors is to find the truth, he said and urged all the legal fraternities to be truthful and sincere to maintain peace and tranquillity in the society.
In every procedure of law, there is a thesis, antithesis and synthesis which are to be followed while making a concrete decision or judgement. A good Lawyer or a Judge needs to adopt a dialectical process. The judicial part is very much powerful. Sincere and ethical service by the fraternities of legal department will amount a desired growth in many sectors of the Government, he added.
Taking a note on the reports of death of two persons by an unknown disease at Kamjong area of Ukhrul District, Jayantakumar said that an expert team of the Health Department has been sent for investigation and to prepare a detailed report of the incident.
Necessary steps will be taken on the basis of the investigating committee, the Minister added.
At the inauguration programme, the Bar Association of Senapati, Manipur submitted a memorandum to the Minister for speedy construction of one 3G Model Court, Judicial Quarters and Jail in the district. The Minister assured to take up the issue and consult with the Union Law Minister for the establishment of the infrastructures.
The inaugural function was also attended by TA&Hills Minister Kayisii; District & Sessions Judge  A Noutuneswori Devi and Secretary, Law& Legislative Affairs, Govt of Manipur, Nungshitombi Athokpam.
