AR explanation shocks IPS Assn

IMPHAL, Jan 23: The IPS Officers' Association Manipur Chapter has expressed immense shock at the manner in which the lady IPS officer, who was allegedly harassed and assaulted by an Assam Rifles personnel at Khudengthabi checkpost on January 19, has been maligned through the media by the official statement from the Assam Rifles while the matter is under investigation.
A statement issued by the association today termed the act as unfortunate and reiterated faith in the due process of law for addressing all crimes including crimes against women.
The association further conveyed that it expects full cooperation from the Assam Rifles authorities regarding the ongoing investigation.
