Bhogen shines as NAPSA overcome OSCAR by 10 runs

IMPHAL, Jan 7 : NAPSA, Kha Imphal held off spirited OSCAR, Paona Bazar by 10 runs yesterday in a Group B league match of the 4th T Subol Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.
NAPSA elected to bat after winning the toss and posted a moderate total of 132 runs for 8 before holding OSCAR at 122 runs in the chase. Bhogen produced man of the match display by hitting 33-ball 55 for NAPSA in the first innings in their way to 132 run total. Somorendro also added 15 runs in NAPSA's tally before Keshorjit and Brojen added 13 runs each in this innings which saw Lalboy of OSCAR finish with a four wicket haul in his spell of 4 overs.
Pamlei, Devkanta and Anggu of NAPSA also finished with one wickets in their names in this innings before they were restricted for 122 for 10 in 19.5 overs.
Goroba made the most significant contribution of 27 runs for OSCAR in this chase while Mohen, Lalboy and Devkanta added 15, 14 and 13 runs respectively.
Ibobi's bowling proved to be dangerous for OSCAR as he bagged 4 wickets alone including the 10th wicket in 3.5 overs while Bhogen who shone with the bat in the earlier innings, managed to pick up 2 wickets. Doren and Himat also claimed a wicket each to help NAPSA seal a 10 run victory.
OSCAR, Paona Bazar will play YWC, Langthabal in the next Group B league match tomorrow.
