Govt urged to repair road

BISHNUPUR, Oct 17: The State Government has been urged to repair the only road of Moirang Shribon Leikai, which is in pathetic conditions for long, before October 22, 2020.
Moirang Shribon Leikai falls under the jurisdiction of  Moirang Municipal Council Ward nos 4 and 12.
The road was closed by irate denizens of the locality, yesterday. Nupi lup, organisation and club based in the locality also warned of launching stringent agitations if the demand is not entertained.
Speaking to media persons, Shribon Leikai Women Development Association advisory, Ahongbam Singarei said that the people of Shribon Leikai have resolved to close the road indefinitely as a sign of protest.
"We have been urging the local MLA to repair the road, but no actions have been taken up so far," she lamented.  
One Shagolsem Shanti also claimed that the road stretch has not been repaired for nearly 20 years.
If the road is not repaired on or before October 22, people of Moirang Shribon Leikai will launch harsher agitation such as tearing down the road stretch, furthermore, she cautioned.
