Website for CMMIPM launched

Sylhet, Oct 2: A website for Chauba Memorial Manipuri Intellectual Property Museum (CMMIPM) at Moulvibazar, Bangladesh was launched virtually, yesterday.
H Tonubabu is the founder and director of the museum which was opened on May 7, 2007.
Among others, the programme was attended by H Tonubabu; Ng Uttam Singh, Art and Culture, Director; social and cultural activist, Rakesh Naorem; Manipuri poets Hamom Promud;  Sanaton Hamom; AK Seram; Dr Sihab Shahriar; Swapan Nath, Dy Director, NAEM and L Jyanta Singh, convenor Manipuri Cultural Complex Bangladesh.
Aishi Hamom was the anchor of the programme.
As part of the virtual function, Maibi Jagoi; Khongjom Prava, Krishna Jagoi, Pung Cholom; Khamba Thoibi Jagoi;  Phousu Jagoi and Leima Jagoi were also performed by different artistes.
On the occasion, Hamom Tonubabu said that the foundation stone of the museum was laid by eminent poet Dilwar on October 1, 2006.
Research scholars from Manipur and different countries such as Australia, Japan, Canada, German, USA, England, Sweden, Switzerland and Bangladesh, he said.
Tonubabu stated that he is not satisfied with the items and documents kept at his museum and sought donations from well wishers.
Ng Uttam said that the Department of Art and Culture will assist the museum in promoting Manipuri culture.
