Prize distributed

IMPHAL, Oct 21 : The winners of the 1st Online Manipur Classical Solo Dance Competition organised by the Government Dance College were feted today in a function held at the college's campus at Palace Compound.
The prize distribution function of the competition organised under the aegis of the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Manipur was graced by the Commissioner and the Director of the Department of Arts and Culture M Joy and Ng Uttam respectively as the chief guest and the functional president. Speaking at the occasion, M Joy said that competition was organised in pursuance of the Department of Arts and Culture's endeavour to encourage the artistes.
Sadly, COVID-19 has also affected activities of the artistes who are devoting themselves in dancing and singing artforms this time, he said while adding that the competition was thus held online keeping the COVID-19 threat in the mind and with a view to keep encouraging the artistes.
He also appealed all to strictly adhere to COVID-19 guidelines to keep the virus at the bay.
Artistes of the Government Dance College also impressed all the attendees with solo performances during the prize distribution function.
